Separation of Church & State

Published by under Church & State

This subject has been debated for a long time, and this blog does not intend, at present, to debate our current political standards at length.

The purpose of this site is to draw attention to the truth of Jesus Christ, and in doing so we will touch on a variety of issues.

But the simple truth is that “Separation of Church and State” does not exist. It is not only absent from the U.S. Constitution, but it simply does not exist in either practice, or principle, anywhere.

Meaning this: Every form of government that has ever existed has had a set of rules and laws to help govern it. Those rules and laws were, and are, a reflection of someone’s, or some groups, views of right and wrong. Somewhere, and somehow, according to a currently held view of morality, decisions were made and laws were set in place. This is a basic truth and does not require a long, drawn out dissertation.

Whether we are Secular Humanists, Atheists, Muslim, Buddhists, Hindus, or Christians, all of us have beliefs concerning our creation, morality, and eternity. These beliefs are inseparable from who we are and they can not be set aside when decisions are made regarding the legislation and governing of our peoples.

It is in the opinion of this writer, and I am fairly certain that it is self evident, that what the separatists are really after here is “Separation of Christian Church and State.”

Currently, in America, we have a situation where apparently the only philosophy or value system that is utterly rejected is faith in Jesus Christ. We see it constantly in the media and on the talk shows. The court battles rage over the Ten Commandments in our schools and courts, and Christian prayers at opening ceremonies. And various organizations, under the disguise of civil liberties, don’t even want a “Christian God” to be spoken of at all. But all you really have to be is a parent to see the double standards at work here.

When your children come home from school and state that they are not allowed to draw attention to Christian principles, let alone mention Jesus Christ, some would say that this is Separation at its finest.

But then they are sent home with books and homework to help “educate” them about Islamic and Eastern philosophies. So, where is the Separation of Church and State? It is like I said earlier, it emphatically, does not and can not exist.

Even if we were to remove these philosophies as well, and stick to a purely “scientific” approach to issues such as; creation, morality, and eternity, it would accomplish nothing. This is because the scientific community also has their own set of views and beliefs concerning these areas. And that belief system is known as “Natural Selection.”

What has happened here is nothing more than a fulfillment of scripture. Howbeit, these individuals and groups are so blinded by their hatred of Jesus Christ that they can not see it.

I will close here with a few scripture references:

1 Corinthians 1:18-25
18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.”
20 Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21 For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. 22 Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom, 23 but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, 24 but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength.

John 1:3-5
3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.

John 1:10-13
10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God- 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

John 3:19-21
19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.”

1 Peter 2:4-8
4 As you come to him, the living Stone-rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to him- 5 you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 6 For in Scripture it says:
“See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame.” 7 Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe, “The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone,” 8 and, “A stone that causes men to stumble and a rock that makes them fall.”

They stumble because they disobey the message-which is also what they were destined for.
