Stumbling Through
We walk, stumble, fall and cry. Today we live, tomorrow we die.
We pray we curse we fall away. Be sure to avoid the judgment day.
Onward we march through the night, longing for that Shining Light.
The good are oppressed, the wicked prevail. They do laugh and we do wail.
Where is good, where is right? I have seen the righteous and their plight.
They stand alone before the crowds, yearning to fly above the clouds.
We walk, stumble, fall and cry. We wait and wait and then we sigh.
How we long to be with Him, to be delivered from our sin.
The spirit is willing, the flesh is weak. Oh Lord, have mercy on the meek.
All around us the enemy stands, seeking to devour whomever he can.
Day by day the years pass by us, while Satan accuses us of our trespasses.
His empty heart can not be filled for he exalted himself on your hill.
With pride and arrogance he leads astray, to try and block the narrow way.
Christ alone will put him down and his sins he will drown.
We walk, stumble, fall and cry, but don’t believe his deceitful lie.
For faith in Christ has set us free. He will meet our every need.
What God has started He will finish, so our hope in him should not diminish.
Through His Son He views us now and to the cross they all will bow.
“being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6
